Investigations

HYDRAULICS
GROUP INC.

The engineers at Environmental Hydraulics Group Inc. (EHG) have carried out numerous investigations to assess the on-site conditions for adverse hydraulic (i.e waterhammer) and/or environmental issues. This document outlines a methodology developed by EHG to facilitate investigations and reporting.

Adverse hydraulic and/or environmental forces impact society and EHG is committed to helping clients understand and resolve these impacts. EHG is retained to resolve complex issues at all stages: i) preliminary/conceptual design/feasibility, ii) implementation/construction and iii) review/forensic investigations.

Benefits at Each Stage
Stage 1:

Preliminary / Conceptual Design / Feasibility
Clients such as SNC-Lavalin and Barrick Gold have found that bringing EHG in at the beginning of a project equates to substantial savings at the implementation / construction stage. EHG's conceptual designs improve hydraulic processes and provide smoother transitions zones, often reducing initial maintenance and operation costs and increasing the service life of the infrastructure.

Stage 2:

Implementation / Construction
Investigation of the client's situation assist EHG to identify bottleneck issues and develop and alternative measures. Often on-site investigations are undertaken during the construction stage to assess the situation. EHG will develop options appropriate to the client's needs. In consultation with the client EHG describes the impacts of each option.

Stage 3:

Review / Forensic Investigations
As a specialist engineering consulting firm, EHG has conducted a number of reviews and forensic investigations.
