HYDRAULICS
GROUP INC.

Environmental Hydraulics Group Inc. (EHG) is a specialist consulting firm providing engineering services across Canada - in both official languages - and internationally. Even the largest engineering firms retain us for our expert focus and stable team because they know EHG solves the most difficult hydraulic problems: we are the consultants’ consultants. We are also a natural choice to support legal and insurance professionals due to our experience in communicating complex findings in jargon-free language to multiple audiences. Founded in 1987 by Dr. Alan Fok, the firm is located just north of Toronto.

EHG engineers have carried out numerous investigations to assess the damages sustained by people, property and infrastructure as a consequence of adverse hydraulic (i.e waterhammer) and/or environmental issues. We have an excellent track record in resolving critical safety and production issues faced by the public (drinking water, sewage and drainage), mining, power and industrial sectors. Since it does not endorse products and because its specialist practice extends to all firms in many sectors, EHG is completely independent and objective when assessing facts or rendering opinions.

Within its environmental hydraulic and environmental expertise, EHG provides the following legal and insurance services:

  • Event Investigations (cause of damages)
  • Document Review for Discovery
  • Technical Report(s) for Expert Opinions
  • Mediation, ADR (support for settlement)
  • Expert witness for court proceedings
  • Expert review of decision or releases
  • Compliance support with judgement, Acts, Regulations or class EA
  • Waterhammer (pipe & equipment breaks)
  • Watershed, highway & site drainage
  • River engineering (flooding & erosion)
  • Water & sewage treatment plant hydraulics
  • Land development (water, sewers & SWM)
  • Mining & industrial hydraulic processes
  • Power generation thermal-hydraulic transients (e.g. penstocks, tailrace)
